Day 2: Lima - Cusco

Half-day dedicated to a visit of the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco; walk through its streets to discover the charming architecture. Return to the hotel.

You will be transferred to the Lima airport to take your flight.

Day 3: Cusco - Sacsayhuaman - Q'enqo - Cusco

Departure for a half-day dedicated to the discovery of the ruins around Cusco (Sacsayhuaman and Q’enqo) and of the historical center: Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral where several paintings of the Cusco School and many gold and silversmithery pieces and precious stone objects are displayed.
Return to the hotel in Cusco.

Day 4: Cusco - Chinchero - Moray - Maras - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Departure at 7.30am in a private vehicle on an all-day excursion to explore the Sacred Valley. The first stop will be a visit to the colonial village of Chinchero to visit the colonial church and the Inca ruins. Then we will continue our excursion visiting the village of Maras and the salt flats perched in the cordillera there! We then set off to visit to the cultural site of Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory before continuing on toward Ollantaytambo.

Day 5: Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes

In the early morning, direct connection to the shuttle service that will drive you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Arrival to Machu Picchu, wonder of the world.

Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city of the fifteenth century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca Empire, Machu Picchu sacred city, forgotten for centuries, is considered as a masterpiece of Inca architecture. It was unveiled in 1911 by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham.

Together with your english speaking guide, you will start to discover the archaeological complex, still covered by the morning mist, built on top of a ridge and surrounded by precipices. A stunning view that evolves with the progression of the sun! After the guided tour (around 3 hours for the visit), you have the opportunity to discover on your own.

Day 6: Sacred Valley

First class train to Ollantaytambo.

Day 7: Sacred Valley - Pisac - Cusco

8 am departure for a half-day trip exploring Pisac. We will visit the impressive Inca ruins and then wander around the colorful handicraft market. Return trip to Cusco and transfer to the hotel.

Day 9: Bogota

Full day to explore Colombia´s capital city of Bogota, known for its colonial and authentic atmosphere. Walking through its cobblestoned streets, you will discover colorful restored colonial mansions, splendid carved wooden balconies as well as churches built in baroque style.
- A walk in the universe of the emeralds gems: with your "expert" tour guide, you will walk through the cobblestoned streets of the Candelaria district to discover many retailers and craftsmen. By visiting the workshops, you will learn how to recognize the most beautiful stones.
- Cerro de Monserrate is the 3152m peak flanking the city´s east. Over there, you will envoy a stunning view over the city and abouts. On its top, there is a white church (accessible by cable car or by funicular railway) is a major mecca for pilgrims, particularly crowded on religious days.
- The Gold museum displays one of the most dazzling collection in South America. It brings together around 34.000 pieces of goldsmith work, considered as the world´s largest pre-Colombian collection of its kind. Those artifacts come from different civilizations : Quimbayas, Taironas, Muiscas or Tolimas.
- Botero Museum is dedicated to the most famous colombian artist, Fernando Botero. The Museum contains both his works (around a hundred of drawings, paintings and sculptures) as well as his private collection with no less than 85 masterpieces of well known artists, such as Dali, Renoir, Chagall, Picasso, Miro...
- Bolivar Square (la Plaza Bolivar) surrounded by Bogota´s grandest buildings, including the Town Hall, the Palace of Justice, Primatial Cathedral, Congress Building...

Day 10: Bogota - Pereira

Day 11: Pereira - Salento - Cocora Valley - Pereira

Delve deep into this Colombia´s beautiful area.
This day will be dedicated to the discovery of the scenic landscapes and small villages:
- Jeep Willys ride in the countryside
- Hiking tour past the soaring wax-palm trees in lush Cocora Valley
- Lunch break
- Visit of Salento: panoramic tour, discovery of the local architecture, the houses made of bamboo and the colourful handicraft shops.

Day 12: Armenia - Buenavista - Pijao - Filandia - Armenia - Pereira - Salento

Today, you will visit a well-known finca (coffee farm). The owner will welcome you onto his plantations and teach you all about the coffee-growing process, from seed to cup. And of course, you will end this tour by tasting some of the best coffee in the world.
On the way back, you will enjoy breathtaking views over the Quindio landscape. You will stop at the charming village of Pijao, hidden among mountains.
And then, make a stop at Filandia, a small colorful village knowns for its handcraft.

Day 13: Pereira - Bogota - Cartagena de Indias
